The current cost of the AAA Utah How to Drive course is $52.00.
How long does it take to complete the online class?
This course is designed to provide students with the scheduling flexibility they need while also ensuring that they learn the drivers education standards established by the Utah State Board of Education and Utah Law. Utah Law requires 30 online hours to complete this course.
The following is quoted from AAA Utah How to Drive:
"You must complete each module in the Table of Contents and spend a minimum of 30 hours reviewing the content before you can take the final exam and receive your certificate of completion. If you finish the course in less than 30 hours, you will not be able to take the exam until you have spent 30 hours reviewing the content. The "Required Time Remaining in Course" clock below will tell you how much more time is remaining to meet the 30-hour minimum requirement. If you have completed 30 hours and you still have more modules to complete, you must complete them before you may take the final exam. In addition, each module is timed to establish your pace to meet the 30-hour requirement."
Important: You must complete the course within 90 days or reregister and resubmit payment.
Behind-the-Wheel Lessons
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my driving lesson?
You need to either communicate (email or text) your instructor or cancel your scheduled drive before 24 hours. This allows other students, and the instructor, to make arrangements. Failure to communicate in either manner will result in a $50 fine. This fine must be paid before the student is allowed to schedule any further drives.
Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?
To maintain consistency, we try to keep the same students with their beginning instructors. Staying with the same instructor allows the instructor to give consistent and vital feedback in preparation for the final test.
There are occasions that may merit a change in instructors. This will be a case-by-case scenario.
Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?
No. You must provide your own transportation to and from the high school for your driving lessons.
When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?
Before you can start behind-the-wheel driving lessons, you must have your learner's permit. To receive the permit, you must be at least 15 years old and pass the written test at the DMV.
